Discover God Through Your Own Eyes

Peace Be With You Reader,

What comes to mind when you hear the word “God”?

A man in the sky?
A divine judge?
A cosmic force?
An eternal silence?

Most of us inherit our concept of God—from our upbringing, our culture, our religion. But rarely are we encouraged to question it. To define it for ourselves. To think.

Each of us carries an inherited image—handed down through culture, religion, family.

But… what if that image isn't entirely accurate?

Natural Theology invites us to do just that.

It begins not with belief, but with observation.

Not with scripture, but with reality.

Instead of relying solely on divine revelation, Natural Theology asks:

  • Can we come to know something about God using reason and logic alone?
  • What does the natural world—trees, stars, gravity, beauty, motion—reveal about the nature of the Divine?
  • If God is the cause of all things, can we learn about the Cause by studying the effects?

This was exactly the path that Thomas Aquinas walked.

He defined theology as “faith seeking understanding”—but believed that certain truths about God were accessible to anyone, regardless of religious background, simply through rational contemplation.

And Jesus?

He didn’t teach theology through doctrines or creeds.

He taught through parables drawn from nature.

Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them.
- Matthew 6:26
“Every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.”—Matthew 7:17
"And again he said, 'To what should I compare the kingdom of God? It is like yeast that a woman took and mixed in with three measures of flour until all of it was leavened.'"—Luke 13:20-21 (NRSV)

Neither Jesus nor Aquinas asked us to blindly accept a definition.

They invited us to look, wonder, and observe
To explore the fingerprints of God in logic, nature, and the stillness of our own being.

So… what is “God” to you—not as you've been told, but as you perceive?

If that question stirs something in you, then check out The Theology of Christ.

🕊️ The Theology of Christ masterclass explores how Jesus, Aquinas, and Natural Theology can help you clarify—not who you should believe in, but what your soul already knows to be true.
